General Visitor

This section gives the information about:

General visitors Eligibility , Documents, Application Form, Visa fee, Extension and Sponsoring of vistor visa application if you want to come to the United Kingdom as a general visitor.

If you want to visit family or friends in the UK or to come as a tourist you should apply as a general visitor/ Family visitor.

If your main reason for visiting the UK is to see family you must complete VAF1B Application Form.

If the main reason you are applying to come to the UK is as: a tourist or to visit friends you must complete VAF1A Application Form

To visit the UK in this capacity you must be able to show that:

• You intend to visit the UK for no more than six months
• You intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit
• You have enough money to support yourself and live in the UK without working or needing any help from public funds.

General Visitor Application Fee made from 6 April 2009

Single, double and multiple visit, valid up to 6 months - 67 pounds
Single or double visit up to 1 month (India only) - 46 pounds
Family visitor - 67 pounds
